New Canaan Addition & Renovation

This project under construction is a renovation and expansion of an original mid-century modern residence by architect Norman Jaffe. This project integrates a new modern addition into the tranquil Connecticut setting with contextually respectful design and a commitment to conservation strategies. A new pavilion is being constructed to function as a gallery for the art collection of the new owner. The new addition’s black exterior reinforces the architectural clarity of the original glass house while serving as a counterpoint to its transparency. The new pool house and garage are both set into the landscape and a small circular pool centers the composition as a small nod to original iconic geometry.
